Amid expectations that President Yoon Suk-yeol's impeachment trial will take place this week, anti-impeachment rallies were held nationwide on Saturday, centered around Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, where 3.5 million people reportedly gathered, as well as Chuncheon in Gangwon Province.

The "National Rally Against President Yoon Suk-yeol's Impeachment," organized by the National Movement Headquarters to Establish the Republic of Korea, was held at Gwanghwamun Square on Saturday. According to the organizers, over 3.5 million citizens participated, stretching from the area around the statue of King Sejong near Gyeongbokgung Palace to Seoul City Hall and Deoksugung Palace near Sungnyemun. Police unofficially estimated the crowd at 20,000.

Participants in the rally demanded the dismissal of President Yoon's impeachment trial, denounced the Constitutional Court's alleged unfair judgment, called for the dissolution of the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) for pursuing the "30th impeachment attempt," and urged investigations into election fraud by the National Election Commission, the eradication of Chinese spies, and the revocation of voting rights for Chinese nationals in local elections.

"The slogans we shout today are dismissal or rejection. After that, we should shout 'hurrah.' Next week, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo's impeachment trial will be dismissed or rejected, and President Yoon will return to Yongsan," said Rep. Park Dae-chul of the ruling People Power Party (PPP). "This week, let's wait for the good news of spring that all citizens hope for. President Yoon's impeachment trial must be dismissed," he said. He concluded by chanting, "Now it's dismissal, now it's rejection."

Professor Lee Dong-ho emphasized, "The current crisis in South Korea is worsening due to domestic North Korean spies. The KCTU spy group is pledging loyalty to Kim Jong-un and attempting to communize our Republic of Korea. Therefore, we must awaken and protect our country by eradicating pro-North leftist forces."

Meanwhile, an anti-impeachment rally organized by Save Korea was also held in front of the Gangwon Provincial Office in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, on the same day. The rally, attended by an estimated 4,000 people according to the organizers and 2,500 according to the police, featured participants such as Pastor Son Hyun-bo of Saerom Church, Representatives Yoon Sang-hyun, Lee Chul-kyu, and Jang Dong-hyuk of the People Power Party, and renowned Korean history lecturer Jeon Han-gil.
