While ADOR, the agency of NewJeans, has recently dismissed its CEO Min Hee-jin, she claimed that her dismall was “not mutually agreed upon.” In response, ADOR also explained that it was a legitimate procedure.
On August 27, ADOR held a board meeting where Kim Joo-young was appointed as the new CEO, stating, “Kim will take on the role of stabilizing the organization and internal maintenance of ADOR as a human resource expert with experience in various fields.” The agency added, “Min Hee-jin will step down as CEO, but will keep her position as internal director and producer of NewJeans.”
In response to ADOR’s statement, Min Hee-jin refuted that her dismissal was a unilateral termination notice by the company. “I received a notice on Saturday, August 24, that a board meeting has been scheduled for August 27 to discuss the change of ADOR’s CEO. I was only able to attend over video conferencing. The board reached this decision against my intentions The announcement that I would continue to serve as a producer for NewJeans was not agreed upon.”
Then, ADOR refuted her claim, saying, “Today’s board of directors was held in accordance with the procedures set by the Commercial Act and the articles of association for notification of agendas and voting processing. The schedule was decided among the dates that Min Hee-jin had hoped to postpone. With Min attending via video conferencing, the board made the best decision for the future of ADOR and NewJeans after sufficient discussions.”
