Bong Joon-ho’s “Mickey 17” to premiere on January 28 in Korea

Bong Joon-ho’s next film “Mickey 17” will hit local theaters on January 28, 2025, three days before the film’s global launch on January 31.

On March 14,Andrew Cripss, Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group President of International Distribution, said, “Bong’s creativity, vision and imagination always exceed expectations. Mickey 17 will surprise audiences with its original story and characters, unpredictable plot development and humor, as well as great production qualities.”

“Korea, Director Bong’s mother country, was out first choice in terms of where to debut the film. All of us here at Warner Bros. are very excited to share Mickey 17 with audiences in Korea and beyond,” he added.

“Mickey 17” is the first film that Bong is releasing since Oscar-winning Parasite. Bong wrote the script off Edward Ashton’s novel “Mickey7.”

Robert Pattison, Steven Yeun, Naomi Ackie, Toni Collete, and Mark Ruffalo star.
