“Squid Game” wins 2 awards at Critics Choice Awards

Netflix series “Squid Game” won two awards at the 27th Critics Choice Awards.

The 27th Critics Choice Awards was held on March 13 in Los Angeles, California.

“Squid Game” was nominated for three categories, including Best Foreign Language Series, Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series.

The Netflix megahit drama won the first trophy for Best Foreign Language Series, beating “Acapulco,” “Call My Agent!” “Lupin,” “Money Heist,” and “Narcos: Mexico”. 

Leading actor Lee Jung-jae won the Best Actor award against fellow nominees Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”), Mike Colter (“Evil”), Brian Cox (“Succession”), Billy Porter (“Pose”), and Jeremy Strong (“Succession”). During his acceptance speech, Lee said, “I’m grateful to an extent I can’t express. I’m grateful to Netflix and ‘Squid Game’.”
