Singer Kim Junsu has been diagnosed with COVID-19.

On February 7,  Junsu’s PALMTREE ISLAND released a statement saying, “Our artist Kim Junsu received a positive result on his COVID-19 PCR test on February 6.”

On February 5, the singer took a rapid antigen test out of precaution after hearing that one of the actors in his musical had tested positive for the virus, according to the agency. He took five tests which turned out to be all negative. However, he took an additional round of PCR testing with the cast and crew of the musical and heard from the public health authorities that he had tested positive.

Junsu had already received the booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, and has regularly tested with rapid antigen tests and PCR tests during his work schedule. He cancelled his schedule and is taking the necessary measures directed by the health authorities.
