By Ha Man-joo, India correspondent, AsiaToday - Pranav Mistry, the global vice president of research at Samsung, said, "The Galaxy S6 design it kind of DNA of design, and we found that key DNA," responding to comments that Galaxy S7 design is similar to that of S6, Indian business magazine Economic Times (ET) reported Tuesday.

Samsung Galaxy S7 has been unveiled at recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. In an interview with ET at the event, Mistry said, "We heard very good reviews from our customers that they really enjoyed the feel and design of S6. We don't want to keep changing it every single time. We are actually perfecting."

Regarding Indian research team's role in developing Gear 360 and Galaxy S7, he said, "Our research centers are everywhere, in India, China, Turkey, Japan, and we all work as a team all the time. I am communicating with our Bangalore colleagues on a day-today basis for products as well as software technologies."

Nearly 1 million Indian researchers are working for Samsung Electronics R&D centers in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Noida.

In addition, Mistry talked about new innovations in hardware, saying, "We have already demoed prototypes of flexible and transparent display and we are continuously working on those for sure. At the same time, we are focusing on what our customers can use right now."

He added, "What we strive for is how we can provide the best performance and best design, whatever the customer want. Numbers or specifications might be not the game. It's how we deliver and in one single innovation, that how we bring it in one package. That's what matters."
