By Hong Soon-do, Beijing correspondent, AsiaToday - It's been three years since China's president and Communist Party chief Xi Jinping came to power, and he has clearly shown to the world that he is a man of activism. Since he became general secretary at the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), he has been travelling through many different places at home and abroad with full of energy.

According to Beijing sources on Tuesday, his energetic activities can be seen well with his overseas trips. This year alone, Xi demonstrated breathless summit diplomacy by visiting several countries, including the United States, Britain, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Pakistan, and Indonesia.
At home, he was even more active. It has been found that he visited 23 provinces in China. Xi visited Hebei province three times, and also visited other provinces like Henan, Shaanxi, Fujian, Hainan, and Gansu as much as twice, setting a remarkable record. What's even more eye-catching is that he paid a visit to Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture in eastern Jilin province mid July this year, for the first time in 46 years of government service. This visit shows that Xi is clearly aware of the importance of the region, which is the China-North Korea border and the base of ethnic Koreans.
Of course, there are some provinces that he has not paid a visit yet. Among the 11 provinces that Xi has not visited, Taiwan may be the toughest place to visit due to political reasons. On the other hand, he is expected to visit other remaining regions such as Heilongjiang, Anhui, and Shanxi during his first term, which ends in November 2017. In the case of Hong Kong, he is likely to visit on July 1, 2017, to attend the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to China.
