By Ha Man-joo, India correspondent, AsiaToday - The Indian film industry is showing a great interest in the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF). Bollywood film producers and directors are making announcements through either press release or their social networking service that their movies have been chosen to premiere at the BIFF.

Drishyam Films announced on Wednesday that three films including "Masaan", "Dhanak", and "Black Horse Memories" will be screened at the BIFF.

"We are happy and proud that after a successful run at Sundance, Berlin and Cannes film festivals, we are now headed to Busan with three of our films, one of which 'Black Horse Memories', our first international venture is in the competition category," said Shiladitya Bora, CEO of Drishyam Films.

"BIFF is doing a great job of showcasing Asian cinema and has become the go-to place for anyone looking for Asian content," he added.

High praise for BIFF is followed by other members of the film industry. Mozez Singh, whose musical drama "Zubaan" is chosen to be the opening film, said, "It is the ultimate honor for ‘Zubaan’ to have its world premiere as the opening film for the Busan Film Festival. I am eagerly looking forward to sharing what promises to be a terrific experience with my cast and my producers.”

Kabir Khan, who directed India's biggest box-office success of the year "Bajrangi Bhaijaan", tweeted, "#BajrangiBhaijaan selected for the Busan International film festival -Asia's most prestigious festival."

According to BIFF, 17 Indian films will be screened during the festival (Oct. 1-10). However, there could be more Bollywood films than reported as there are some films such as 'Black Horse Memories' that are not categorized as Indian films.
