WINNER's Mino made a public apology following the controversy over his lyrics.

On July 13, Mino posted an apology on WINNER's official Facebook, stating, "Hello. This is WINNER's Song Mino. I'm sincerely and deeply reflecting on the lyrics that sparked controvery through 'Show Me the Money'. I regret it and I'm so sorry."

He continued, "In competing against other prominent rappers on 'Show Me the Money', I felt a lot of pressure to write more provocative lyrics and words than them, which caused a bad result. Once I realized how wrong I was through the broadcast, I was very embarrassed and ashamed."

He added, "Once again, I sincerely apologize to those who may have felt uncomfortable by my wrong expression. I will do my best to make up for the mistake made with music with better music in the future."
