Two netizens who spread rumors about Lovelyz‘ Seo Ji-soo charged with fines

The results of the case regarding the distributors of malicious rumors about Lovelyz' member Seo Ji-soo are announced.


On May 8, Woolim Entertainment stated, "As a result of investigation on the malicious online rumors against Lovelyz member Seo Ji-soo, the Seoul Western District Prosecutor's Office and the Ansan Branch of Suwon District Prosecutor's Office charged defendant 'A' with fines while defendant 'B' was charged under the juvenile protection case."


"The defendants have spread false information through the use of information network system for the purpose of slandering the victim, and have harmed the victim's reputation. It has been revealed through various legal processes, that the rumors spread online were not only false, but were used to harm an individual," the agency said.


Woolim Entertainment added, "We will act more strictly and strongly towards malicious actions that are happening both online and offline towards our artists."


Meanwhile, Seo Ji-soo complained of psychological anguish after the malicious rumors spread online and was unable to join Lovelyz for their debut.
