The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Management Service announced on the 15th that they are recruiting 15 art-technology convergence companies to move into Arts Korea Lab, a comprehensive support platform specializing in art and technology, until the 30th of this month.
Arts Korea Lab is a platform designed to support the growth and commercialization of art enterprises, offering office space, creation and production infrastructure, and customized corporate growth programs. Moving beyond merely providing office space, the lab supports the entire process of commercialization, including prototyping, experimentation, demonstrations, and investment matching, serving as a hub for the art-tech startup ecosystem.
This recruitment call targets companies pursuing business expansion by merging art with technology. Eligible applicants include companies established within the last 10 years as of the announcement date that combine or utilize technology with cultural and artistic creations or goods, or those driving new business models integrated with art based on technological capabilities.
Selected companies will move into Arts Korea Lab in Jongno District, Seoul, starting in October, gaining access to independent office spaces (management fees excluded) and production facilities such as the Maker Studio and Printing Studio. They will also receive step-by-step commercialization programs, including corporate diagnosis, customized mentoring, investment consultation meetings, IR demo days, and support for participating in domestic and international industry exhibitions. Community programs and promotional support will also be provided.
The occupancy period is initially set for one year and six months, with a maximum stay of up to three years subject to an extension evaluation.
Applications can be submitted online through the National Culture and Arts Support System (NCAS) until 5 p.m. on July 30. Detailed recruitment guidelines are available on the websites of the Korea Arts Management Service and Arts Korea Lab.
For art-tech fusion companies to develop creative ideas into actual businesses, they require comprehensive support spanning investment, market entry, and inter-firm networking, in addition to space and infrastructure, an official from the Korea Arts Management Service said. Arts Korea Lab will continue to expand tailored support aligned with growth stages to enable companies with creative ideas and technological capabilities to refine their businesses and pioneer new markets.
