President Lee Jae-myung requested swift legislative processing for major national agenda items during a dinner hosted at the Blue House on the 1st for the leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, including floor leader and acting party representative Han Byung-do.

Democratic Party floor spokesperson Lee Ju-hee announced the details in a written briefing following the dinner. "The President welcomed the attendees, noting how pleased he was to meet long-time colleagues who had crossed the political finish line together, and warmly congratulated the newly formed floor leadership," Lee said. "He then urged them to accelerate the passage of key bills related to state reform initiatives in the second half of the year."

The dinner took place just one day after the Democratic Party elected 11 out of the 18 parliamentary standing committee chairs. Floor leader Han Byung-do reportedly expressed gratitude during the dinner for President Lee’s recent overseas tours and his administration's push for the "three mega-projects" aimed at driving South Korea's next leap forward. Han added, "We will strongly back the administration's success through all necessary legislative support."

The Democratic Party leadership also expressed their respect for the efforts and achievements made by President Lee and his administration over the past year. Spokeperson Lee noted that the government and the ruling party agreed to build closer solidarity going into the administration's second year, with the shared goal of expanding first-year achievements nationwide and creating a major turning point for public livelihood and economic development.
