Democratic Party presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung embarked on a campaign tour in Seoul's central-western districts on May 19, focusing on the theme of “generational unity.”

In a press briefing held at the party’s central headquarters, Democratic Party spokesperson Cho Seung-rae stated, “We are committed to building a Korea where people of all generations can thrive together,” as he announced Lee’s itinerary for the eighth day of his campaign.

Lee began the day at 11 a.m. with a visit to the Korean Senior Citizens Association, where he met with the organization’s leadership and local chapter heads. There, he expressed his respect and gratitude for the older generation's contributions to the country’s development and listened to their insights on overcoming national challenges. He also discussed institutional reforms aimed at improving the quality of life for seniors.

At 11:40 a.m., Lee paid his respects at the tomb of Baekbeom Kim Gu, reaffirming his commitment to making South Korea a cultural powerhouse, inspired by Kim's emphasis on the “power of culture.”

At 2:30 p.m., Lee held a major campaign rally at Yongsan Station Plaza—symbolically chosen as a hub that connects people of all ages from across the nation. In his speech, he is expected to lay out his plans for national unity and economic recovery.

Later in the day, at 4:30 p.m., Lee will visit Times Square in Yeongdeungpo District, where he will emphasize his vision of a society where both the younger and older generations have fair opportunities and the ability to pursue their dreams. He will then conclude the day’s events with a rally at SangSangMadang in the bustling Hongdae area at 6 p.m.

Lee’s campaign plans to focus on the capital region in the early part of the week, before shifting to provincial cities in the latter half.
