WINNER opened up about their comeback after 1 year and 5 months. Since they returned after a long hiatus, they talked about their comeback.

WINNER had an interview in celebration of their latest mini album 'EXIT:E', at a café in Seoul on February 1.

The boys said, "There was a burden we felt because thankfully, our debut album did better than we expected. Our title track was called 'Empty', and we really felt empty," beginning the interview session with a lighthearted joke.

They continued, "Due to our desire to make better songs than our first album and other reasons, we unintentionally spent a lot of time in the studio and our homes. Such situation was hard for us, but as hard as it was, it was also a time for us to grow and we were able to grasp the direction of our music. During our hiatus, we had a tour in Japan, Nam Tae-hyun learned the guitar, and Song Min-ho participated on 'Show Me the Money'. It was a tough time but we are grateful. Thanks to those experiences, we were able to grow and take a step forward."

Meanwhile, WINNER released their mini album 'EXIT:E' on February 1.
