President Lee Jae-myung will meet with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga at the Blue House on the morning of the 19th.

The Blue House announced that day that President Lee will receive President Banga to discuss cooperation across various fields, including artificial intelligence (AI) and energy.

The two are also expected to discuss expanding AI capabilities in developing nations, an initiative pushed by the World Bank, as well as ways to leverage South Korea's experience and expertise to improve energy access in developing countries.

President Banga, who took office as head of the World Bank Group in June 2023, previously served as vice chairman of U.S. private equity firm General Atlantic and chief executive officer of Mastercard.

President Banga visited South Korea to attend the "Global AI and Digital Summit" scheduled to take place in Seoul the following day, on the 20th.
