President Lee Jae-myung will hold a summit with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the 8th to discuss bilateral economic cooperation across trade, investment, infrastructure, and supply chains.
Senior Cheong Wa Dae Spokesperson Kang Yu-jung announced this schedule during a written briefing on the 6th.
President el-Sisi is visiting South Korea on a state visit from the 7th to the 9th at the invitation of President Lee. This marks President el-Sisi's first visit to South Korea in 10 years, following his trip in 2016.
The South Korea-Egypt summit at Cheong Wa Dae will proceed in sequence, beginning with an official welcoming ceremony, followed by the summit meeting, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony, and a state luncheon.
During the summit, the two leaders are expected to hold discussions on expanding economic cooperation—including trade, investment, infrastructure, and supply chains—as well as people-to-people exchanges, regional developments, and global affairs.
Senior Spokesperson Kang stated, "President el-Sisi's state visit will serve as an important milestone to elevate South Korea-Egypt relations into a strategic partnership and strengthen cooperation across Africa and the Middle East."
