President Lee to meet with China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi on 20th

President Lee Jae-myung will receive Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee and foreign minister, who is set to make an official visit to Korea on the 20th. Wang's visit marks his first trip to Korea in about five years, since September 2021, and President Lee is expected to exchange views on the direction of Korea-China relations and the regional situation during the meeting.


The presidential office announced this in a press notice on the 18th.


According to the presidential office, President Lee is expected to assess the direction of Korea-China relations and the regional situation during the meeting, and to convey his regards to Chinese President Xi Jinping.


National Security Adviser Wi Sung-lac will also hold talks and a luncheon with Wang the same day. The meeting is expected to cover an exchange of views on matters of mutual interest, including Korea-China relations, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and regional and international issues.
