Cha Eun-woo issued a public apology regarding a recent tax controversy, stating that all related taxes have been fully paid and that he will take full responsibility.
In a statement posted on his Instagram, Cha said, “I sincerely apologize for causing disappointment and confusion to fans and many others due to the recent tax controversy involving me.”
He explained that his response was delayed due to the ongoing administrative process, adding, “I had to be cautious while the procedures were underway.”
Cha expressed respect for the procedures and outcome of the National Tax Service, stating, “I have paid all related taxes,” and added that he would continue to cooperate fully with any remaining steps.
He also emphasized that he would not evade responsibility. “If there were aspects I failed to review carefully, the responsibility lies entirely with me,” he said. “I will not make excuses such as ‘I didn’t know’ or ‘it was someone else’s decision.’”
Regarding decisions made during the establishment of a corporation, Cha said, “It was part of preparing to continue my activities in a stable manner, but looking back, there were shortcomings. The responsibility lies with me, not my family or company.”
Reflecting on the situation, he added, “As someone who has received so much love, I take this matter seriously. I feel especially sorry to my fans.”
He concluded by pledging to prevent similar issues in the future. “I will review all aspects of my activities more carefully and thoroughly, and I will take full responsibility for my choices and actions.”
