Sunwoo, a member of the K-pop boy group THE BOYZ, has issued a personal apology following recent controversy over his behavior and attitude. On April 14, Sunwoo shared a handwritten letter via Instagram, saying, “I’m sorry for the delay in addressing this. I’ve been thinking deeply and struggling with how to express myself.”

“I’ve been constantly reflecting on my actions and words,” he wrote. “My personal thoughts and emotionally driven remarks distorted the intention behind what I wanted to say. Although I had no such intent, I failed to manage my words and actions, which understandably hurt those who received them that way. I sincerely apologize.”

He stressed that his statement was not an attempt to simply move past the controversy. “I wasn’t able to respond maturely from the beginning due to my own shortcomings. In trying to defend myself against hurtful criticism, I ended up hurting others with my words and actions,” he explained.

Sunwoo concluded by saying, “This is an apology to everyone who criticized my immaturity, those who were hurt or made uncomfortable by my behavior, and all the people who have supported me.”
