Lee Hyori to host 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards

Lee Hyori will be hosting the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2021 MAMA).

On October 13, Mnet announced that Lee Hyori will host the upcoming music awards scheduled for December 11. She will be the first female host of the ceremony.

“With the brand new theme, ‘Make Some Noice,’ 2021 MAMA intends to show the world the renewed and upgraded power of music to respect the value of difference and break through prejudices. We cast Lee Hyori as the host because she embodied the values that we wanted to embrace for this year’s MAMA,” Mnet said.

Previously, the MAMA was hosted by stars like Song Joong-ki, Lee Seung-gi, Lee Byung-hun, Park Bo-gum, and more.

This year’s MAMA will be introducing global music platform scores collected by Apple Music into the existing judging criteria, in order to reflect global K-pop’s global influence and trend.
