Actress Kim Min-hee became the first Korean to win the best actress award at the Berlin film festival.

On February 18, a closing ceremony for the 67th Berlin International Film Festival was held at actress Kim Min-hee was awarded for her role in Hong Sang-soo's "On the Beach at Night Alone."

During her award speech, she said, "I believe this film will give others a deep impression. I want to thank director Hong Sang-soo who created such a beautiful film. The happiness that I feel today is all thanks to Hong Sang-soo. I honor you and love you."

Hong Sang-soo's new film tells the story of an actress who loses everything because of her relationship with a married filmmaker. Hong Sang-soo and Kim Min-hee made a public appearance for the first time after being embroiled in scandalous affair back in June 2016, garnering much attention.

Meanwhile, the film will hit local theaters in March.
