By Hong Soon-do, Beijing correspondent, AsiaToday - China entered the final stage of preparation for the commemorations for the 70th anniversary of its victory in its War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Allied victory in the world anti-fascist war, which will take place on September 3. Despite its social and economic woes, China freshened up the atmosphere through prompt responses, and is now confident about the event's success. The atmosphere is good. It seems like "China Dream", in which Chinese President Xi Jinping has been emphasizing since he took office, is coming to reality.

Combining Aug. 30 reports of China's People's Daily and other state-run media outlets, such assertion is not an exaggeration. China's military parade, seen as the highlight of the war anniversary events in order to show off the nation's increasingly modern military force, will take place loudly despite initial concerns. Above all, Korean President Park Geun-hye, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and Russian President Vladimir Putin are included in the guest list. UN chief Ban's attendance is especially putting a smile on China's face since he made such decision following concern from Japan. Besides, Taiwan's former premier Lien Chan and several other Taiwanese figures' attendance adds up to China's intended goal.

Everything is going well without a problem. Most of all, the so-called "parade blue" project is going smoothly. Since mid-August, Beijingers have been enjoying unusually blue skies. Xi Jinping signed a prisoner amnesty deal on Saturday, which comes 40 years after China granted an amnesty in 1975. China's preparation to ensure safety of state leaders seems perfect as well. A senior public safety official said, "All the preparations seem to be done. It's clear that the event will take place successfully."

In fact, the parade preparation is mostly finished. Some 12,000 soldiers, who will march for the parade, are gathered in the neighboring units in Beijing. China's preparation to display the ICBM DF-41 and its latest weaponry is reportedly wrapped up. Surely it would be strange if the event doesn't succeed. This is why there are rumors that Xi Jinping will introduce a new guideline to Chinese people about 'China Dream' following the WWII anniversary event in order to change the unsettled social atmosphere.
