IU chosen #1 singer of the year

Singer IU has been chosen as the #1 singer of the year.


On December 18, Gallup Korea revealed the results of the survey conducted to 2,774 participants aged 13 to 59 from all of Korea except those in Jeju Island from October to November. The participants were asked to choose their top three favorite singers among those who promoted this year.


According to the result, IU was the winner with 12.9 percent of the total votes.


IU enjoyed high popularity with her remake of 'Meaning of You' released in may. She also gained attention by singing 'Sogyeokdong' with veteran musician Seo Taiji, who made his comeback after 5 years.
